The roleplay category has now been expanded with the edition of the widescale roleplay; Chaos City. This roleplay is based on Resident Evil, and is based in Raccoon City. You can find the plot here and more information in the main forum. If you have any comments, questions, concerns or anything you want to discuss - you can do so in that forum.

The roleplay offers premade topics, such as The Park or Abandoned Hospital, but you are also free to create your own. Whether it's a topic with a single purpose, or a topic open for anyone else to use and come and go.

Please be sure to read all of the information, as we have implemented a 'news broadcast' idea that will effect the entire roleplay, including; the time of day, weather, current enemies, etc.

Welcome to our first Member Awards! Chances are this will either become a monthly or bi-monthly event. All you have to do is name a member for each of the following categories; member, legend, and staff are all game for the categories (besides the few specific categories like next staff/legend and best moderator). You do not have to do every category, though we'd prefer if you held off sending your votes in until you're sure you can't do anymore. Please send them to me via PM whenever you're ready! We'll have a few days to a week before the votes are tallied and awards are announced! And thanks to everyone for your award suggestions!

As you can see, we've added back the old Holiday Herburban theme and revamped Herbsvile with a little taste of winter Expect similar contests to what we usually run, but themed, as well as a Secret Santa like we did last year which was quite successful

I'm too tired to do all my fancy formatting right now, but I thought I might announce a few changes. You might have already noticed them. First of all, the RP section has been expanded to accommodate the new "Run!Zombie" game, which will be a new and much larger story than you've seen at Herbs before. To run the this new game and eventually help run other things, Rain has been hired as our RP moderator. She comes to us from an extensive background of Resident Evil knowledge and foruming, and she will be helping us grow Herbs into a more active community.

Also helping us grow, we've decided to start an affiliate program. As you can see at the bottom of the board, it's already up, but the official details of it and the application process will be posted soon. We will be taking other steps to further our advertising attempts such as creating a twitter account for Herbs, trying to reach new audiences, and by fixing up the place to the best of our ability. If you would like to help, please visit our promotional images thread and grab a few images to us at other boards you visit.

Happy Birthday Herbs!

One year to this day, Herbs was reborn and given a new chance at life. Many old faces showed up along the way, but there were also many new faces. It is that mix that makes our community what it is, and what a sweet community it is! Although there have been a few downs, there have been many, many ups; and hopefully, things will continue that way for at least another year.

Birthday Changes

In order to improve activity and show our appreciation to our current members, three major changes have been made.

[ New Themes ] Herbsvile and Herbicide

These are two new themes, one light and one dark, for you to enjoy.

As always, huge thanks to Delirium and our own Sarah for being such an awesome team.

Layout Revamps

Part of the unique charm of the first Herbs was my neurotic need for change and lack of satisfaction, and Sarah was more than willing to take those risks with me. Although there have been changes here and there on this board, not nearly as many drastic changes have been made, and now we're going to take a big risk and expand the Resident Evil section. Why? Well, this is a Resident Evil board, and we only have one Resident Evil forum. So to encourage activity in that section, that one forum will turn into three different forums and one sub-forum, and all the threads past the first page will be trashed. In addition "Downtown Raccoon" and "The Arcade" will be moved down a category, and "The Museum" will become a sub-forum of "Jack's Bar."

We hope everyone gets these changes and enjoys them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the "Community Input" forum.

I apologize for the downtime that Herbs had earlier today, but if you were on to catch what was posted, you'll understand that it was necessary. Someone from the first Herbs decided to act on a four or five year grudge by spamming the board with pornographic images and personal attacks. They're all gone now, but rest assured that something like this won't happen again. Admin approval will be enabled until we can buff up security, and I've increased the "flood control" from twenty seconds to thirty seconds.

Also, if you have a personal message from "DO NOT READ," please do not open it. If you send it to your archive, you'll be given the option to delete it.

Due to the lack of activity in The Boutique and Research Facility, both sub-forums have been merged with their respective parent forum. Business may continue as usual where the threads that used to be in the old sections now are. Thank you!

New Theme: Herbicell

We're very behind on the timing considering this was meant to be up around the time Resident Evil 5 came out, but due to school and overall lack of time it took us close to two months to complete But now it's finally done and we've added it to our collection of themes and made it the current default. We hope everyone enjoys the new RE5 themed skin, and if you're a fan of light skins - don't worry, another one is on the way

And a HUGE thanks goes out to Delirium who helped with the coding of this theme!

EDIT: This theme is best viewed in FireFox. For IE users, you may experience problems with mismatching backgrounds on the graphics and the banner overlapping the submenu ( which we'll try to fix ). I highly recommend FF though

Herbs is competing against other boards in the Theme Zone's Battle Awards 2009, where boards are matched against each other to decide which is better overall. Herbs has been pitted against larger boards, so we need all the support we can get! You can check out the battle we're in and vote for us here, but make sure you understand how the voting system works by reading the rules they've provided.

Member of the Month Winner

By only a one vote margin, zerover01 has become our first Member of the Month in 2009! Remember that the winner of this competition only wins the bragging rights, but their name will be placed in the Member of the Year poll that will be held in September, which will have prizes. Schedule Change

Since having a Member of the Month monthly on a board of our size isn't plausible, we're going to skip a month between each competition. So don't expect to see the next one until March. Keep up your activity and start contributing to Herbs now, and maybe you'll be a contender next time.
