I've lost my clever

Since the games seem to be exploring new locales, I hope to see a setting in Europe or Asia. And as I've said before, I'd love to see the return of some of the forgotten characters (Rebecca, Carlos, etc.) I'd also like to see a reintroduction of the horror element. An action game can still cause horror, but RE5 just really did nothing for me. Even Fallout 3 which isn't purposefully horror scared the crap out of me at times due to atmosphere, which is the main problem with 5. The atmosphere just wasn't... Chilling. So I'd like to see RE6 try to at least induce SOME dread. Oh, and easier item management would be a blessing as well.

As for speculations... I don't have a clue where I could even begin speculations, so I wait for some info before doing that.

I want it to be set in Europe. That's where Umbrella's HQ is/was, yet there's never been much exploration there. I want there to be a huge cast of characters; possibly Jill, Chris, Leon, Claire, Rebecca, Barry, Carlos, etc. It should be online, and each player could choose from the roster to create a team--kind of like the co-op system on RE5 but on a larger scale.

There's two ways this can end. And in both of them, you die.

More or less of what Elle said. I would have to say a creepier theme. The stale-looking background of RE4's Village scared me to the point I never played in the Pueblo during the mercenaries, but did when it came to Wesker and HUNK.
I'd say....yeah, along the lines of Dissidia's structure. Group of people, playing as a different set each part of the game.

Wouldnt anyone want Nemisis to come back to Resident evil? Wouldnt that be awesome? I think with the technology they have now they could show what he would really be like. It would make the game more intense if done correctly!

Barry Burton. Seriously, it’s time.

It'd be cool to see a wide, collaborative cast, as well. Characters, both old and new. And no matter where it's set, I'd like to see a return of mechanics and setting that the old RE had. If done right, I think they could develop something pretty unique, given today’s gaming technology.

Do you think a new character should be introduced to the series as the main character?

I don't really think there is any need for any new characters (Other than a villain) There are plenty of one-shot characters that they could re-introduce into the story and develop upon.

There was this writing contests on the CapcomBBS forums ( which I won :) ), now know as capcom-unity, about 16 months ago. Where writers submitted what the opening cinema for RE6 would be like, in their view. I had to go dig it up. My version of RE6 ... brings back old characters; and a very dark setting. Where an EMP goes off, and kills everything with an electroic current; just as a virus is released. No lights, no radios, no way of communicating with the outside world. A massive panic in the city is about to begin ... and a virus has been relased.

It's actually terrible, reading it today; and over cliched ... but does help built up suspense for what would be a very interesting concept to an RE game.

Found the link to where i put it up on fanfcition.\

You won? Nice. From what I've read so far, it's good, but I'll read the rest later. :P

The doialogue is SO CHEESY :D But, when i re-read it, towards the end, it actually does build up a little suspense for when you take control over Rebecca after the cinema ends. And it TRULY would be the Darkest Night for an RE game.

I'd be hoping for the following.

Applied from above. A change in atmosphere. Resident Evil in the past was scary to me because you were walking through darkness and dim-lit rooms throughout the game. Resident Evil 5, while maintaining a slightly creepy atmosphere, just didn't do it's justice for the series. It was almost always light out, and not many of the locales gave off a sense of: "Hey this place looks abandoned and dark, something scary could happen". The factory level (forget what chapter) was really the only place in the game that was all that unsettling.

Applying that to a new region. What I really want them to do is to breakaway from these somewhat knit-together storylines. Give the story a brand new feel. Like a city in Europe is facing an outbreak, much like the original RE games. Going by that they could easily give us that creepy atmosphere of walking through a large, deserted city at dusk with no idea what's behind each corner.

On top of that, a new main character would be something I could enjoy. I loved Jill, Claire, Chris, and Leon, but I'm sick of seeing characters I'm going to confuse for another lead. (When I played RE4 I think Leon was Chris -_-) Someone who isn't some government officer, or anything like that. Just some regular person without any goal at first, other than to survive. Adding those elements in later steadily would give the new character some sort of shine and not alienate them for being a new face.

Fix the aiming and knife experience as well. I detest having to stand still and hold 3 different buttons to use my survival knife. It makes me rely on my guns too heavily, and that makes me run out of ammo faster.

I want real survival-horror. I want the old RE 1 and 2 formula back. I want something that is going to heavily rival games such as Dead Space, Silent Hill, and others in the field of sheer-terror and actually scare me. Here's to hoping.

I would want the game to be set in Asia to give a different feel. Have more scares in them more than action like the first RE. Bring back my favorite, Rebecca Chambers, as well as maybe a character from the Outbreak games. He/She could be living in Asia or on vacation or something. Well that's my ideas lol

I kind of liked that because it was different, but then Left4Dead2 did it too. Now, I'm like, "Ugh, go back to dark, scary games!"

In spite of the RE6 Reboot rumors, I honestly don't think the current story arc is quite finished yet. There are still a few plot holes that have yet to be filled, like the whereabouts of a now-adult Sherry Birkin, Ada's whereabouts and true intentions, and the identity of "The Organization" (though I personally think it was the Global Pharmaceutical Consortium).
